About us
A house, its garden, its kitchen
A vine grower’s farm in pale tuffeau stone, at the end of a lane through the vines north of Chinon. We reopened it in 2016: Camille runs the room, Étienne the kitchen.

Fenaison? The meadow we mow in June.
The house is named after the meadow beside it. It’s mown at the start of summer, and the smell of hay drifts in through the dining-room windows.
The old press house is now the dining room, the stable is the barn where long tables are laid, and the cellar dug into the limestone keeps our bottles. We serve what the garden and Chinon’s winemakers give us.

The dining room
An oak table, carved chairs, French windows onto the garden. The flowers come in from outside: tulips in spring, peonies in May, sunflowers in summer. So do the mint on the tarts and the sage on the pappardelle.
The kitchen
Étienne and a small team, a big range, pots on the go from early morning. The chickens come from a farm in the valley, the pike-perch from the Loire, the mushrooms from the limestone caves.

Étienne’s rule
What’s ripe, cooked simply, served hot on a hot plate.
